Rector’s Speech

I am glad to introduce to you one of the most renounced citadels of formation owned by the Catholic Diocese of Ikot Ekpene in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. She is Queen of Apostles Seminary, located at Afaha Obong in Abak Local Government Area. A unique and very special institution that guarantees a holistic personality formation of young Catholic Priesthood or a meaningful, respectable, responsible life as lay members of the society.

In queen of Apostle Seminary, the Seminarians(student) are drawn from diverse backgrounds and cultures, afforded equal opportunities and grounded in the solid Catholic formation to prepare them for challenges of life ahead. Despite their diversities, they live as one large family in an edifice founded on two great-pillars of intellectual and spiritual/moral discipline.

The seminary compound is specious, beautiful, secure and condusive for all the children who are privileged to be admitted. Our highly qualified, experienced and carefully selected teachers are ever ready and always on hand to discharge their duties in the formation of the seminarians. It is an environment where nobody is nobody.

Our resolve to bring out the best from our students through careful mentorship is not only informed by the will to produce intellectuals for the society but above all by the church mission to achieve the salvation of soul after a fruitful life. This is why Queen of Apostles Seminary is not just like any other secondary school. Besides being an intellectual power house, it is a “feretory” for the shaping (moulding) and polishing of personality.

We also have various extra-curricula programmes that help to boost the God-given Tlent of the students and make them flourish. Information and Communication Technology is an integral part of the teaching and learning at Q.A.S students are thought to be independent and to develop that self confidence that will make them thrive anywhere they may find themselves.
